so these countries roughly constitute europe.. here's how well they did in 2017 vs 2016:.
2017 peak pubs.
2016 peak pubs.
Numbers look good!! This is C.T. Russell's 1799.
i can't remember the exact topic but i think a few people predicted the same thing - that the blm movement would cause an increase in violent deaths of young black men, ultimately doing more harm than good.. and so it has: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41391333.
an 8.6% rise in the homicide rate is pretty appalling by any standard unless it started at very low levels, which we know it didn't.. this is why i object to movements based on false premises and invented media lies / selective coverage.
the people who suffer the most are not the ones marching in the streets.
I have a better theory, or at least just as good. What has increased crime is the lack of good movies recently. People are bore to death because theaters have nothing good to show and decide to commit crimes instead. I see the cause-and-effect connection and that's enough for me. I don't have to back it up with reliable data or any studies.
this is my first post, i will introduce myself later.
first of all, i must say that english is not my mother tongue (i'm spanish), so excuse me if i make any mistake.. do you think that some people simply can't cope with being outside the jws?
some of them are too worldlyphobic to be around non-jws, too dependent on a fixed set of rules in order to carry on with their lives, too dependent on the hope of paradise and resurrection, too unable to leave their personal comfort zone within the organization.
Paradiseeker,
Your English is great.
Despite the blood transfusion ban and everything else negative about the Borg, there are cases in which the pros of being in a cult are greater than the cons. As a general rule, all those older people who didn't enjoy a good secular education, have poor finances, little self worth and a superstitious nature belong to cults like the Borg. In a cult, its members have goals, self worth, purpose, hope and plenty of like minded people to confirm their belief system is the right one.
according to the 11/2017 study watchtower.......apparently not.
is it really true that one can be happy without religion?
certainly an individual can be happy without false religion, but a person cannot be truly happy unless he has a relationship with jehovah, who is described as “the happy god.” (1 tim.
Religion really makes a lot of people very happy. They travel in private jets, they live in luxurious mansions, they eat the best food, they are worry free about health care and long term care, they enjoy the good life living in lakefront properties. And the good thing is that they didn't have to work a day in their lives to get these benefits. They just had to rely in Jehovah to provide... an abundance of the meek and gullible.
i was baptized 30 years ago and have been in the faith for over 35 years.. our organization isn't perfect.
but i'm sick to death of seeing stereotypes about us.
we are not mindless automatons.
"Many of us ARE highly educated. I have a Masters Degree."
Many=tiny percentage (usually born-ins doing free legal work for the master in Warwick
@CG"...fact is universities these days are rampant with Marxist propaganda. no wonder we are only seeing incremental changes!"
Are you listening to talk radio too much? Give yourself a break. It's a f**ing cult too!!!
"Very nice, too bad the state of science today leaves alot to be desired,"
You are confused. What you may call science may not fit the definition of science, therefore it's not science. Anyone can claim they are scientists or to be using the scientific method, but if it doesn't pass the smell test then it's not science.
what does the evidence show?.
"...two distinguished scholars have tried to introduce a little reality into the debate about the world's trajectory.
swedish intellectual johan norberg and harvard university's steven pinker provide a persuasive antidote to the apocalyptical school of journalism.
We are worse off. The end is coming. Humanity has reached its lowest.
Here's my evidence: 20 years ago someone broke my truck's small window and stole the cd player...and, and, and, and I am sure there's something else, Oh I remember now, three years ago, one of my neighbors ignore my "good morning" greeting. Definitely the end is near.
confidential items are of most interest of course, just curious what they're talking about there in general and what are the newest things everyone is being warned about, etc.

@Slim: "...said patriotism is the biggest religion of all."
Amen to that brother. And yet, do we want to go the John Lennon way? I guess we need the patriotic religion just in case other countries' patriots want to kick our asses.
